The English Premier League is now over as Manchester City won the league title for the sixth time. However, their city rival, Manchester United, suffered a lot this season. They ended the 2021/2022 campaign standing in the 6th. Moreover, the Red Devils ended the season for the first time with zero goal difference since 1990.

The Man United board has appointed a new manager, Erik ten Hag. With him, the board wants to rebuild the team. It’s been five years since Manchester United won their last trophy. Moreover, they won their last Premier League title in the 2012/2013 campaign under Sir Alex Ferguson. Since then, the Red Devils couldn’t get close to winning the league title. Anyway, the new season of the EPL will start in August. New manager Erik ten Hag will also start his journey in the EPL from the new season. However, he has talked about his visions and plans for the new club. In his first press conference as the Manchester United’s manager, Ten Hag said,

It was [my favorite club], seriously. In every country, I had a favorite club. In England, [it was] Manchester United. I have been in Manchester, but this is the first time I’ve been in Old Trafford, and I’m impressed. It feels like my home already, and I cannot wait until the first match, and the stand is full. It will be an exciting experience.

Transfer Plan

To rebuild the team, it is obvious that Manchester United will make several transfers in the upcoming window. But they can’t rebuild the team in one window. At the very least, Manchester United needs three windows to become title contenders. However, the process will start from this summer transfer window.

There are several players who will leave Man United this window. Striker Edinson Cavani’s contract will expire in June. He will leave the club as a free agent. In addition, Nemanja Matic, Jessy Lingard, and Erik Baily are also on the list to go out from the club. Manchester United are also ready to sell Aaron Wan Bissaka if they get a fair proposal. Moreover, the situation of Paul Pogba is still uncertain.

Manchester United are looking to sign a striker despite having Cristiano Ronaldo in the front. They will also go for a center-back this window. Furthermore, Donny Van de Beek will return to Man United after completing the loan session at Everton. It is expected that Manchester United will sign five or six players during the summer transfer window.
