Super-sub Son scored a hattrick to smash Leicester

Tottenham Hotspur smashed Leicester City at their home, where Son Heung-Min scored a stunning hattrick after coming off the bench in the 60th minute. Last night, the Spurs netted six times against Leicester City to seal the victory. However, the win moves the Spurs to the 2nd position. They now have equal points with the table topper, Man City. On the other side, Leicester City have suffered their 6th consecutive defeat this season. They haven’t won a single game after playing 7 matches.

As it happened

Last night, Tottenham Hotspur welcomed Leicester City at the Spurs Stadium. Spurs boss Antonio Conte played his team in a 3-4-2-1 formation. He benched Son Heung-Min and played Richarlison in the front. In addition, Conte deployed Harry Kane as the center-forward.

On the other side, Leicester’s manager Brandon Rogers set up the team formation with 4-1-4-1. But he missed the service of Jimmy Vardy due to an injury.

Both teams played very aggressively from the beginning of the match. So, the audience didn’t have to wait for much to see the goals. In the 6th minute, Leicester City got a penalty kick, and Youri Tielemans scored from that spot-kick. However, Tottenham didn’t take much time to find the equalizer. Spurs forward Harry Kane netted the ball in the 8th minute to level the scoreline.

Spurs defender Erick Dier helped the team to take the lead in the 21st minute. But James Maddison scored a stunning goal in the 41st minute for the Foxes to level the scoreline once again. So, the first half ended in a 2-2 tie. 

Tottenham were very ruthless after coming back from the break. They took the lead within two minutes of the second half. This time, Rodrigo Bentancur found the net for the Spurs. But Son’s magic started in the 70th minute. He came off the bench in the 60th minute and scored his first goal in the 73rd minute.

Moreover, the forward scored two more goals in the final ten minutes. Son Heung-Min scored his second goal outside of the box. Within two minutes, Son completed his first hat trick of the season by scoring a brilliant goal in the 86th minute. Leicester City couldn’t score more in the remaining minutes. Therefore, Tottenham Hotspur got a massive victory with a 6-2 margin.
