The match between Argentina and Brazil was scheduled for Sunday night. The match also started on time. In the ninth minute, some members of Avinsa and the Brazilian Federal Police advanced towards the pitch and stopped the match. The authority said four players of Argentina didn’t follow the Covid-19 protocol, and they lied to quarantine information.

The four players are Emilio Martinez, Cristian Romero, Lo Celso, and Emi Buendia. They are all EPL players. Earlier, EPL authorities did not allow the players to go. But these four did not listen to the authorities. The South American Football Confederation CONMEBOL permitted the Argentina Football Federation that those four can play the match. Moreover, Brazil’s Federal Government negotiated with CBF and CONMEBOL to permit Argentinian four players to play, which was granted. That is why manager Scaloni kept three players among four. After all, the match between Brazil and Argentina could not continue.

Everyone was shocked by this incident. The players were not happy at all because they were preparing to play this Super Clasico match. Argentina captain Leo Messi said to the reporters,
“We’ve been in Brazil three days. Why wait until the game starts to come and find us? They could have removed us 3 days ago since we arrived. This is a total disaster.”
Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni was also not happy. He said,
“I’m very upset. I don’t blame anyone. This is very sad because it wasn’t the moment to do this on the pitch. This was supposed to be a party to enjoy the best players in the world.”
