Leicester City have been very unpredictable this season. Even though they are struggling in the mid-table, the Foxes can bite you hard sometimes. And that is what exactly happened today. Leicester City just demolished Tottenham Hotspur today at King Power Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur are fighting to enter the top four to secure the Champions League. But today’s defeat against Leicester City has made their journey more difficult.

As it happened

This evening, Leicester City welcomed Tottenham Hotspur at King Power Stadium. Brandon Rogers, the manager of Leicester City, set up the team formation with 4-2-3-1, while the Spurs boss played his team in a 3-4-2-1.

The game started with both teams aiming to score an early goal. Leicester City tried to dominate the visitors from the beginning. But Tottenham Hotspur didn’t take much time to find the net. They got an early goal as Rodrigo Bentancur scored in the 14th minute.

However, Leicester City showed their fighting mentality today. They didn’t get nervous after conceding an early goal. Besides, The Foxes were desperate to return one. As a result, they took only nine minutes to find the equalizer. Midfielder Mendy scored that goal for the Foxes to level the scoreline.

After that, the magic started happening for the home team. Within two minutes, Leicester City took the lead as James Maddison found the net with the help of Iheanacho. Conceding two goals in the margin of two minutes, Tottenham Hotspur were totally destroyed.

Their playing style became unorganized. The home team took that advantage and created some crucial chances. They could have scored more goals if they didn’t miss some opportunities. However, Leicester City got their third goal in the injury time of the first half. Kelechi Iheanacho, who registered the assist in the 2nd goal, wrote his name on the scoresheet after netting in the 45+4th minute.
