The winter transfer window in European football has started on January 1, 2022. The window will remain open for the whole month. Because of the short time, the clubs have to do their business quickly. Many rumors are circulating about the transfer market. On the other side, some clubs have signed new players on the first day of the new year.

Romelu Lukaku’s update

Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku created a controversy speaking with Sky Sports, Italy. He mentioned that he is not happy at Chelsea. Speaking to the Sky, Lukaku said,

I’m in a moment in which I believe the manager can make me play more, but I respect his choices. I just have to keep working and wait for my moment. Tuchel and I are trying to find a tactical system where we can “find” each other – a way to help the team because the situation [PL table] is a bit complicated. He made his choice – I keep working, at a certain point I’ll speak with Tuchel and we will see the situation.

Moreover, Lukaku added that he has a soft corner in his heart for the fans of Inter Milan. He also wants to rejoin Inter Milan if he has the chance again. But, there is no chance for Inter to sign him in this window. Chelsea are not willing to sell or loan him as well.

Trippier to Newcastle(?)

Kieran Trippier, who joined Atletico Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur, might move to Newcastle United this window. However, Newcastle United already made a formal bid for Trippier. Chelsea are also interested in signing him. Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simione spoke about the right-back. He said that Trippier now has to decide if he wants to leave or not.

Dele Ali could leave Tottenham

English midfielder Dele Ali could leave Tottenham this window. Tottenham boss Antonio Conte benched him in the match against Watford. Moreover, Ali is not a regular starter for the Spurs. Football expert Paul Merson said,

Dele Alli didn’t get on. I think he’ll probably go in the January window. That’s up to Dele Alli if he wants to go. They were searching for a goal and you want a midfield player that’s going to bomb into the box and they were too predictable in the end.
