The UCL: Knockout round line-up is confirmed

The round of 16 lineups is confirmed as the draw took place at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. Sixteen teams have qualified for the knock-out round from the group stage. Now they have been confirmed their opponent by the UEFA authority.

However, the authority of the tournament, UEFA, made controversy with the draw ceremony. While the Europa League draw was underway, UEFA released a statement. They said,

Following a technical problem with the software of an external service provider that instructs the officials as to which teams are eligible to play each other, a material error occurred in the draw for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. As a result of this, the draw has been declared void and will be entirely redone at 1500 CET.

After the announcement, the draw for the knock-out round took again. According to UEFA, the round of 16 matches will start from February 15, 2022. Each team will play two games, home and away, against their opponent team. The first leg will be played from February 15 to 23. After that, the second leg will start on March 8, 2022.

Paris Saint-Germain VS Real Madrid

The match between PSG and Real Madrid is one of the most exciting matches in the Round of 16. PSG were scheduled to play against Manchester United before the second draw. But they will now play against the Laliga topper, Real Madrid.

Paris Saint-Germain became second with 11 points in Group A, while Real Madrid were at the top of the table in Group D. On February 15, the French side will host the Laliga topper at Parc des Princes. With this match, Madrid legend Sergio Ramos, who joined PSG the last summer from Real Madrid, will return to Madrid.

Sporting CP VS Man City

Manchester City will face Sporting CP in the Round of 16. On the first leg, they will travel to Estadio Jose Alvalade, Portugal on the first leg. Man City finished the group round on the top of the table, while Sporting was the second team in their respective group.

RB Salzburg VS FC Bayern Munich

Hot favorite, FC Bayern Munich, will play against the Austrian side RB Salzburg on February 16. Salzburg will host the first leg at Red Bull Arena Salzburg.

Inter Milan VS Liverpool

Liverpool will meet the Italian side Inter Milan at San Siro Stadium. The All Reds have qualified from Group B, winning all the matches. On the other side, Inter Milan became the second in Group D.
