There is only one month left in the summer transfer window. So, many clubs are signing more players, while some are extending contracts with the players. Besides, many clubs are trying to offload some players before the window end.
Chelsea are close to signing Marc Cucurella
After completing two top-class signings, English club Chelsea are getting close to bringing Marc Cucurella from Brighton. Cucurella joined Brighton last summer with a transfer fee of £15m. Since then, Marc Cucurella had been in brilliant form in Brighton’s shirt. He was named the Player of the Season for Brighton. That is why many top clubs are now trying to get him.
At first, Man City boss Pep Guardiola wanted him to replace Oleksandr Zinchenko. Therefore, Man City offered Brighton £30 million for Marc Cucurella. But the Seagulls have turned down this offer. Chelsea FC joined the race to sign Cucurella a few days back. They are likely to meet the asking price, which is expected to be around £50 million. The coming days will be very crucial for the Blues and Marc Cucurella.
Diogo Jota has renewed his contract
Portugal international Diogo Jota has renewed his contract with Liverpool FC. Jota joined Liverpool two years ago. Since then, he has played 85 games for Liverpool. Jota also scored 34 goals in his 85 appearances for the All-Reds.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is delighted to renew the contract of Diogo Jota. While speaking to the club media, Klopp said, “What Diogo has brought to this team and this club since he arrived is there for all to see, so it is really good news that he has signed a new contract. Brilliant, brilliant news, I would say.” Klopp added, “As a striker who can play on the wing, he gives us so many options and since he came to Liverpool he has improved so much. I have said before that Diogo is the player we hoped he would be but also a little bit better, so long may this continue.”
