English club Tottenham Hotspur have been very busy these days as they are trying to sign several players. The Spurs have already signed Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, and Yves Bissouma in this transfer window. They are now getting closer to signing the Brazilian forward Richarlison from Everton FC.

Richarlison had a decent season with Everton last year. In the English Premier League, Richarlison scored 10 goals in his 30 appearances for Everton FC. Moreover, he got 5 assists on his name. But, Richarlison attracted many top clubs for his brilliant performance in Brazil’s jersey. In 2022, Richarlison played 8 games for Brazil, scoring six goals. These stats make the top clubs interested in signing the 25-year-old Brazilian.

Richarlison was one of the top performers for Everton FC. But the club has to sell him because of their financial crisis. Everton had a poor season last year. They ended the 2021-2022 Premier League campaign in 16. After the poor performance in the league, Everton appointed Frank Lampard as the first team manager. So, they need funds for the new manager to use in the best way.

Although a number of clubs are interested in signing Richarlison, Tottenham Hotspur is one of them. On Wednesday, Tottenham made an official bid of around £40m for Richarlison. But, Everton chairman Bill Kenwright rejected the offer, saying that the offer wasn’t sufficient.

After that, Tottenham made another proposal. They offered £50m plus £10m add-ons for the Brazil international. However, Everton still believes the price isn’t enough but has accepted the offer. The personal terms with the player are also completed. Richarlison completed his medical in Brazil. Moreover, he has already signed the contract with Tottenham Hotspur. The official announcement will come soon.

Chelsea tried to Hijack Richarlison.

Chelsea tried to hijack Richarlison as they joined the race to sign the Brazil international in the 11th hour. But Chelsea didn’t send a better offer than Tottenham. Moreover, Everton showed respect for Tottenham Hotspur so that they didn’t listen to any offers from Chelsea. As a result, Chelsea moved away from Richarlison.
