The January Transfer Window is about to end. Many top clubs have already signed some new faces. Nevertheless, some clubs continue to make efforts to recruit new members. English Premier League leader Arsenal are getting close to signing Leandro Trossard from Brighton.

Leandro Trossard is close to joining Arsenal

Arsenal are flying in the EPL. They are eight points clear of their closest rival, Manchester City. They can lift the league title after 19 years if they continue playing like this for the rest of the season.

However, Arsenal’s boss has been trying to strengthen his squad. They were heavily linked with Ukrainian talent Mykhailo Mudryk. Unfortunately, Chelsea entered the race and hijacked the player from Arsenal’s radar.

But Arsenal haven’t stopped looking for new players. They are now confident to sign Belgium forward Leandro Trossard from Brighton FC. Trossard has been brilliant for Brighton so far this season. He scored seven goals and registered two assists in his 16 appearances for Brighton and Hove Albion.

However, his relationship with the manager has become more complicated. Trossard said that he won’t renew his contract with Brighton. As a result, Brighton must sell him if they want to make some cash from this player. Otherwise, Leandro Trossard will leave the club the next summer as a free agent.

Brighton’s manager confirmed that Leandro Trossard will not play their next game against Liverpool. In response, Trossard left the training ground without speaking to head coach Roberto De Zerbi.

Trossard’s agent Josy Comhair has talked about the issue. He said, “Before Leandro left for Qatar, it was Brighton’s intention to extend his contract, this did not happen as parties did not reach an agreement. Leandro has also indicated he is ready for his next step.”

“After the World Cup there was an altercation at training between Leandro and another player over an inanity. Since then, the trainer has not spoken to Leandro, which is obviously not conducive to the atmosphere, as well as performance-wise,” Josy Comhair added.

As it stands, Trossard is on the edge of leaving Brighton, and Arsenal are ready to sign him before the window close.
