Transfer Updates on Lewandowski and Koulibaly

After so many dramas and rumors, Bayern’s striker Robert Lewandowski is finally on his way to join FC Barcelona. On the other hand, English club Chelsea FC completed the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.

The transfer saga about Robert Lewandowski has been over. He is on the way to joining FC Barcelona. Poland international Robert Lewandowski had one year left on his contract with the German champion, Bayern Munich. He told the club that he would leave Bayern Munich whenever his contract expires. But the club always tried to renew the contract, while Lewandowski denied doing so.

There were many clubs that wanted the Poland international in this window. But Lewandoski only wanted to join the Spanish club, FC Barcelona. He rejected many clubs, including Chelsea FC. However, FC Barcelona finally met the asking price with Bayern Munich. They agreed on a €50m deal for Robert Lewandowski. In addition, Lewandowski will sign a three-year contract for Barcelona.

Lewandowski is still in Germany. But he will fly to Miami on Sunday and join Barcelona’s pre-season tour. Furthermore, Lewandowski has said goodbye to Bayern Munich. While speaking to the media, he said,

I didn’t have much time to prepare for it. It all went very quickly to saying goodbye to everyone. These eight years were special, and you don’t forget that. I had a great time in Munich. I will fly soon but after the training camp, I will come back and say goodbye properly, and organize a few things. I said goodbye to the boys on the field today.

Chelsea signed Koulibaly

After getting Raheem Sterling from Manchester City, Chelsea completed the signing of Napoli center-back Kalidou Koulibaly. They reached an agreement with Napoli for Koulibaly. Chelsea will pay around £33m for this player.

However, Koulibaly will sign a four-year contract for Chelsea that will keep him until 2026 at the club. Anyway, Kalidou Koulibaly joined Napoli in 2014. Since then, he has played 300 games for the Serie A club. He also won the Best Defender in Italy award in 2019.
