Trossard destroyed Liverpool at Anfield

The current season is not going well for Liverpool. They have won only two games after playing seven matches in the English Premier League. Moreover, the Klopp boys have lost one and tied the remaining four matches. As a result, Liverpool have slipped down to the 9th position in the point table. In addition, Liverpool dropped crucial points at home with a 3-3 draw against Brighton last night.

Having endured a difficult season so far, Liverpool hosted Brighton last night at Anfield in an attempt to bounce back. Liverpool’s boss Jurgen Klopp played his best possible XI in this crucial match. He set up the team formation with 4-3-3. Meanwhile, Brighton’s boss played his team in a 3-4-2-1 formation. 

However, Brighton and Hove Albion stunned the home team as Leandro Trossard scored a goal very early in the match. He found the net for the visitors in the 4th minute with the help of Welbeck. The Belgium international helped the team to double the lead by scoring his 2nd goal in the 17th minute.

Conceding two goals in 20 minutes, the Klopp boys had gone crazy. They were desperate to equalize. Liverpool, therefore, created many chances. But they had to wait until 33 minutes to get the first goal. Roberto Firmino scored that goal for the home team. Mo Salah registered an assist in this goal. However, both teams couldn’t score more in the first half. As a result, Brighton went to the break with a 2-1 lead.

Coming back from the break, Liverpool played relatively better football than in the first half. Therefore, they found the equalizer as Roberto Firmino scored his second goal in the 54th minute. Returning two goals at the home ground, Liverpool became more confident. They continuously press the opponents.

Moreover, Liverpool took the lead for the first time in the match in the 63rd minute. It was an own goal by Brighton’s defender Adam Webster that helped Liverpool take the lead. At this point, it seemed Liverpool were winning the match. But the drama wasn’t over here. Leandro Trossard scored a crucial goal in the 83rd minute to complete his hat trick. In addition, he saved Brighton from losing the match with this goal. Therefore, both teams shared points at Anfield with a thrilling 3-3 tie.
