Manchester United are one of the oldest clubs in European football history. This club has won everything they can. But despite being the most successful club in the English Premier League, Manchester United have been without a league title since 2013.

The Red Devils won their last league title in the 2012-2013 season under Sir Alex Ferguson’s era. Moreover, Man United haven’t won a single trophy since 2017. Although many managers came and went, the club failed to win any silverware. This legendary club is also out of the UEFA Champions League as they failed to get a place in the top four last season. After that, Manchester United appointed Erik ten Hag, the former manager of Ajax, on four years deal. Now the Red Devils are looking forward to getting a flying start in the first game of the new season. But the question is how far they can go.

Manchester United completed the previous season in 6th. They were 13 points behind the 4th team, Tottenham Hotspur. But if we compare the current squad of Man United with the previous one, we will see a lot of improvements. The current is more experienced. Moreover, the manager has strengthened the squad with three new signings. Christian Eriksen has the ability to create chances in crucial minutes. Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez can play both as center-back and defensive-midfielder. The manager is also determined to sign more players. So, this season will be way different than the previous one.

Issues to solve

The problem with Cristiano Ronaldo hasn’t been solved yet. Although he played a match in the pre-season, Ronaldo still wants to leave the club. Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendis is still looking for clubs where Ronaldo can join.

On the other hand, Manchester United are also offloading some players. Man United have already reached an agreement with Sevilla for Alex Telles. Telles will join Sevilla FC on a loan move. There is no buy option included in this deal. So, he will return to Man United after the current season. In addition, Erik Baily might leave the club as AS Roma has shown interest in signing him.
