The FIFA World Cup is knocking on the door. It will start on November 11 in Qatar. However, England have always been a favorite team in the World Cup. A massive number of star players have been playing in England. As in previous seasons, the England squad also has a lot of young and some experienced players. But what will be their journey to the upcoming World Club?
In the FIFA World Cup 2022, England will play in Group B, where they will face Iran, the United States, and newly promoted Wales. England are in the easy group compared to other groups. Wales have qualified for the FIFA World Cup after a long 64 years. On the other hand, Iran are the 21st team in the world ranking, while the USA stand in 15th. Meanwhile, England are the 5th team in the world ranking.
But, England are going through a very tough time. Currently, they are competing in the UEFA Nations League. Unfortunately, the British are yet to win a match after playing four games. Hungary defeated England by a 4-goal margin in their most recent match. Moreover, England just won one of their last five matches.
So, it is clear that England are having a difficult time. But, they have the potential to make difference against any team in the world. Their squad depth is magnificent. England’s boss Gareth Southgate has several options for one position.
In the front, Harry Kane is the trump card for the manager. Kane will lead the attack with some exciting young talent, such as Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, and Raheem Sterling. Moreover, an experienced player like Jordan Henderson can generate energy from the midfield.
After all, England have huge potential in their squad. But they are not on the right track. Gareth Southgate, the manager of England, must find out the best combination for his squad before the FIFA World Cup. Otherwise, they can’t go far on the biggest show on earth.
