The T20 series ended last night at Sabina Park. However, New Zealand sealed the series by winning the first two matches. But West Indies won the third game to avoid being whitewashed. Caribbean opener Brandon King became the Player of the Match for his crucial half-century.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Match Report<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">New Zealand&#8217;s skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bat first in the 3rd T20. So, Martin Guptill and Devon Conway came into the pitch to start the innings for New Zealand. Both batters were very careful from the beginning of the match. But despite being defensive, they couldn&#8217;t make a long partnership. Spinner Akeal Husein bowled out Guptill in the 3rd over.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">After that, the skipper sent Mitchell Santner into the pitch. He tried to bat aggressively. He also made a partnership of 30 runs with Devon Conway. But Akeal Husein picked up his wicket in the 7th over. Devon Conway also departed the pitch a few moments later. He scored 21 off 17 balls before losing the wicket.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">However, captain Williamson then built a very important partnership with the new batter, Glenn Phillips. Glenn Phillips was a bit more aggressive than the skipper. Anyway, they added 41 runs together on the scoreboard. Williamson, unfortunately, lost his wicket in the 15th over. But Glenn Phillips continued scoring runs. He scored the highest 41 runs for the Black Caps. Relying on his bat, New Zealand scored 145 runs in 20 overs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">West Indies had a flying start to chase the target. Brandon King and Sharmarh Brooks, the two openers of the West Indies, played superbly from the beginning of their innings. Both players got half-centuries in this match. Furthermore, they added 102 runs in the opening partnership.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">With three sixes and four boundaries, Brandon King scored 53 runs from 35 balls before losing the wicket. Meanwhile, Sharmarh Brooks scored 56 runs from 59 balls before his departure. With their runs, West Indies chased the target, losing five wickets in 19 overs.
