West Indies have come to Sri Lanka to play a two-match test series against the Lankans. The first Test match has already been played, where West Indies lost by 187 runs to Sri Lanka. However, the second test is the series-deciding match. If the home team, Sri Lanka, can win this match, they will win the series also.

2nd Test Match Report

The Sri Lankan skipper Dimuth Karunaratne won the toss at the Galle International Stadium and decided to bat first. The squads of both teams are given below.

1st Innings of Sri Lanka

Winning the toss, the two Lankan openers started well. Pathum Nissanka and skipper Karunaratne picked up 106 runs in the opening partnership. After that, Dimuth Karunaratne lost his wicket to Roston Chase. However, the other opener, Nissanka, scored the highest individual runs for the Lankans in the first innings.

Before losing the wicket to Permaul, Pathum Nissanka scored 73 runs for the team. But the rest batsmen of Sri Lanka could not score a notable run. As a result, Sri Lanka became all-out in 204 runs. Permaul took five wickets of Sri Lanka in the first innings.

1st Innings of West Indies

West Indies also have a good start in their first innings. Brathwaite and Blackwood were looking good on the pitch. But Blackwood lost the wicket after scoring 44 runs. Praveen Jayawickrama took the wicket of Blackwood in the 28th over.

On the other hand, Brathwaite got a half-century and added 72 runs on the scoreboard before losing the wicket. It was the highest individual runs for the visitors in that innings. Like Sri Lanka, the middle-order batsmen of the West Indies could not score enough. But they took the lead of 49 runs before becoming all-out.

2nd Innings of Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka started batting in the last session of today. Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne failed again. He scored only six runs before losing the wicket. Sri Lanka lost another wicket as Oshada Fernando became run out in the 15th over. There are two more days to play.
