It’s been a massive blow for Manchester United, as they have been criticized by the goalkeeper, Dean Henderson. The goalkeeper described his time at Man United as a “Caged Animal.” Meanwhile, newly promoted Fulham have signed Bernd Leno from Arsenal.
Leno has joined Fulham.
Fulham have promoted to the English Premier League 2022-2023 campaign after missing out on two consecutive seasons. They will face Liverpool FC in their first game on the opening day of the EPL. However, the club has completed a major signing, bringing Bernd Leno from Arsenal FC.
Bernd Leno, the German international, joined Arsenal in 2018. Since then, he has been featured in 101 games for Arsenal, where he kept 25 clean sheets. However, Aaron Ramsdale has become the first choice for Arsenal boss Mike Arteta. Therefore, Bernd Leno didn’t get enough game time for the team. So he decided to leave the club. Finally, Arsenal reached an agreement with Fulham FC for Bern Leno. Fulham will pay around 8 million euros for the goalkeeper. In addition, Bern Leno signed a 3-year contract with Fulham.
Dean Henderson Criticized Manchester United.
Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has heavily criticized the club. It was his dream to be Man United’s first-choice goalkeeper, but it never happened. David De Gea has always been considered the no.1 goalkeeper at Man United. So, Dean Henderson became frustrated not getting game time. He played only three matches in the last season. However, he has joined the newly promoted Nottingham Forest on a loan move.
While talking to talkSPORT, Dean Henderson criticized Man United heavily. He said, “To be honest, it has probably been the toughest 12 months of my career. The conversation I had coming out of the Euros squad was ‘You’re coming back here to be the number one’. I got Covid-19, came back, so I should have still been the number one but then nobody followed through with what they had told me.”
Henderson also added, “It was frustrating, because I turned down so many good loans last summer for that reason, and they would not let me go. To sit there for 12 months, it is criminal really, at my age, I was fuming.”
