Barcelona have regained their top position as they defeated Osasuna in a thrilling match at El Sadar, the home of Osasuna. Earlier, Real Madrid lost the game against Rayo Vallecano. Therefore, Barcelona had a chance to go to the top by defeating Osasuna last night.

However, they did it despite conceding a goal early in the match. With 37 points, Barcelona are at the top of the table now, while Real Madrid are five points behind the topper.

Osasuna welcomed FC Barcelona at El Sadar to play the last league game before the FIFA World Cup. As Real Madrid lost points in their previous two games, Barcelona had a great chance to go to the top of the table. Therefore, Barca boss Xavi Hernandes played his best possible XI against the home team.

Xavi Hernandes set up the team formation with 4-3-3. Robert Lewandowski led the attack with Ousmane Dembele and Ferran Torres. In the midfield, Sergio Busquets and Pedri played along with Frankie de Jong. On the other hand, Osasuna’s boss played his team in a 4-4-1-1 formation.

As the home team, Osasuna had a flying start. From the very beginning of the match, the home team tried to dominate the visitors. As a result, the home team didn’t have to wait much to take the lead. In just six minutes of the game, Osasuna stunned the visitors as David Garcia scored a brilliant goal with the help of Ruben Garcia.

After that, the home team kept pressing the opponents. They created a lot of chances in the first half. It was difficult for Barcelona to create good chances. Moreover, the visitors were under tremendous pressure when Robert Lewandowski was sent off in the 31st minute. Both teams couldn’t score more in the remaining minutes. Therefore, the first half ended in a 1-0 margin.

Returning from the break, Barcelona became more stable on the pitch. They played better football in the second half than in the first half. As a result, FC Barcelona found the equalizer at the beginning of the second half. In the 48th minute, midfielder Pedri scored a brilliant goal for the visitors to equalize the scoreline.

After that, both teams tried hard to take the lead. But it seemed the match would end in a 1-1 draw. However, Brazil international Raphinha gave a lifeline to Barca. He scored a fantastic goal in the 85th minute with a powerful header, which earned the victory for Barcelona. Therefore, Barcelona once again sit on the top with 37 points.
