Match Report

Nasir Hossain, the captain of Dhaka Dominators, won the toss and decided to bat first at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. Therefore, Usman Ghani and Soumya Sarkar came into the crease to start the innings for Dhaka.

Due to the poor form, Soumya Sarkar lost his place in the national team for the last few series of Bangladesh. So, Soumya Sarkar took BPL as his chance to return to the national team. Unfortunately, his poor form continues in the BPL as well.

Today, he failed to make a good opening partnership for Dhaka Dominators. Soumya Sarkar lost his wicket in the very first over. He has gone duck after being LBW in Rubel’s over. However, Usman Ghani tried to handle the situation with Dilshan Munaweera. Together they picked up 31 runs on the scoreboard.

Their partnership was looking good, but Imad Wasim made a breakthrough there. In the 6th over, Pakistani bowler Imad Wasim picked up two wickets in a row. Dilshan Munaweera lost his wicket to Imad Wasim after scoring 17 runs. Moreover, the spinner bowled out Robin Das in his next bowl.

It looked like Dhaka Dominators could end their innings before 100 runs. But Nasir Hossain stepped forward to rescue the team. The captain took responsibility and tried hard to make a good result. He scored the highest 39 runs before losing the wicket. Relying on his bat, Dhaka Dominators scored 128 runs in 20 overs.

Chasing the target, Sylhet Strikers got a flying start. Mohammad Haris and Najmul Hossain Shanto played carefully from the beginning. They added 52 runs in the opening partnership.

But Dhaka Dominators made the match competitive by taking three quick wickets. Dhaka picked up three wickets between 52 to 61 runs. However, Mushfiqur Rahim and Thisara Perera were rock solid between the wickets. They were leading the team toward the target. Although Mushfiq lost the wicket after scoring 27 runs, Thisara Perera remained not out in 21 runs to chase the target. His unbeaten 21 earned the victory for Sylhet Strikers by five wickets.
