Match Report

Cadiz welcomed Barcelona last night at their home, Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla. The home team manager played his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation. On the other side, Barca boss Xavi Hernandez set up his team formation with 4-3-3.

The manager made the debut of Hector Berlin, who joined Barca this window. However, Xavi benched Robert Lewandowksi to give him rest.

Both teams played a bit of slow football in the first half. The home team tried to dominate from the start, but Barcelona took control eventually. The visitors highly pressed the opponent to find the net. Although they created so many chances, they couldn’t take the lead due to the poor finishing of their forwards. As a result, the first half ended in a 0-0 tie.

Midfielder Frankie de Jongs opened the scoresheet as he scored a stunning goal in the 55th minute. Scoring the goal, Barcelona became more aggressive. Dembele and Fati seemed very threatening whenever they got the ball. In the 66th minute, the visiting team doubled their lead as Robert Lewandowksi found the net for Barcelona. Moreover, it’s his sixth goal in five games in the league.

Cadiz, the home team, became shaky after conceding two goals in the second half. Meanwhile, Barcelona kept pressing and creating chances. As a result, they scored two more goals in the final ten minutes. In the 86th minute, Ansu Fati found the net with the help of Lewandowksi.  Moreover, Lewandowksi assisted in the 4th goal as well. Ousmane Dembele scored that goal in injury time. Unfortunately, Cadiz failed to return a single goal in this match. Therefore, Barcelona sealed the victory with a four-goal margin.
