Afghanistan have won the three-match ODI series and white-washed the Netherlands by winning the third match. The Afghans have secured the series by winning the first two games against the Dutch. Yesterday, they won the third match at Asian Town Cricket Stadium. However, despite losing the series, Netherlands player Scott Edwards won the trophy of Player of The Series.

3rd ODI Match

In the third match, Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and decided to bat first. But their opening partnership was not good enough. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who got a century in the 2nd ODI, went back to the pavilion after scoring only 12 runs in the third match. But the other opener, Riaz Hussan, made a partnership of 86 runs with Rahmat Shah. Both batsmen were looking comfortable on the pitch.

In the 28th over, Riaz Hussan lost his wicket to Sadiq Zulfiqar after scoring a half-century. He scored 50 off 75 balls. On the other side, his partner missed the half-century only for two runs. In the 33rd over, Rahmat Shah departed after scoring 48 runs.

But it seemed to be a competitive match as both openers started the innings brilliantly. Both openers made a magnificent partnership of 103 runs.

Scott Edwards scored a back-to-back half-century. Before losing the wicket, he picked up 54 runs for the team. On the other side, Colin Ackermann scored 81 runs in the third ODI, which was the highest individual run for the Dutch. But the disaster started when both openers went back to the pavilion. Except for Saqib Zulfiqar, the remaining batsmen failed to cross ten runs. Moreover, two batsmen went back to the dressing room without scoring runs.
