Asia Cup: India have ended their journey with a win

India’s Asia Cup journey ended with a fantastic victory over Afghanistan. Last night, they defeated Afghanistan by a massive 101 margin. Moreover, Virat Kohli scored his long-awaited century in this match after three years. He also won the Man of the Match award for his tremendous batting display.

Mohammad Nabi, the captain of Afghanistan, won the toss and decided to bowl first at the Dubai International Stadium. So, India started their innings with KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. Both openers had a fantastic start in this match. They were literally ruthless on the crease. They tried to hit every ball they faced. KL Rahul made a brilliant partnership of 119 runs with Virat Kohli.

However, both openers picked up half-century last night. But, KL Rahul, unfortunately, lost his wicket in the 13th over. Before losing the wicket, he scored 62 runs for India. On the other hand, Virat Kohli continued scoring runs. He made another partnership of 113 runs with the new batter, Rishab Pant. However, Kohli contributed the majority of the runs in this partnership.

Anyway, both Kohli and Rishab Pant remained not out in this match. Virat Kohli scored his first T20 International century in this match. With six sixes and twelve fours, Virat Kohli scored 122 runs only from 62 balls. On the other side, Rishab Pant remained not out in 20 runs. Relying on their bat, India scored 212 runs against the Afghans.

Chasing down the massive target, Afghanistan started very poorly. In the first over, they lost two wickets, Hazratullah Zazai and Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up both wickets. After that, Ibrahim Zadran tried to build a partnership. But the other batters failed to stay long on the pitch.

Due to the aggression of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the Afghans kept losing wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the Indian pacer, picked up five wickets alone. However, Ibrahim Zadran fought alone for the Afghans. He scored the highest 64 runs for the team. But the other batters failed to contribute enough to the team. As a result, India won the match by 101 runs as Afghanistan ended their innings with 111 runs.
