Manchester United just have completed their second signing of the January Transfer Window. After negotiating with the Beşiktaş, Manchester United finally reached an agreement with the Turkish club to sign this player. Wout Weghorst is currently playing for Burnley on loan. As a result of the deal with Manchester United, the player has to leave Burnley.

Manchester United will pay €3m to Besiktas and then sign Weghorst on loan from Burnley.

Who do Manchester United want Wout Weghorst?

Manchester United have been looking for a striker since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club. Ronaldo made a controversial statement before the FIFA World Cup about feeling betrayed by Manchester United. He said he has no respect for Erik Ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United.

However, Manchester United immediately terminated the contract with Ronaldo. Since then, the Red Devils are looking for a striker. Anthony Martial has been doing good for Man United. He had a fantastic pre-season with the club. Moreover, he has also scored some goals for the club. But the problem is, Martial’s fitness is not good enough to play all the games of the season. Erik Ten Hag knows it very well, and so he is desperate to get a striker.

Therefore, the Red Devils go for Wout Weghorst as the backup striker. Wout Weghorst’s records are not good enough, but he has the ability to find the net at any time. In the FIFA World Cup, Wout Weghorst played a vital role for the Netherlands. The Dutches were losing the game, but Wout Weghorst scored twice against Manchester United to keep the match alive.

However, Wout Weghorst played 20 games last season. But he couldn’t score often. The Dutch international scored only two goals and registered three assists on his name.

But the biggest advantage of Wout Weghorst is his height. With his height of 6 feet 6 inches, he can score from a header. Manchester United usually use wingers in every match. Marcus Rashford and Antony make so many crosses in a game. So, Wout Weghorst can score some goals whenever he gets a chance.
