This Sunday will be super exciting for the PL fans as Liverpool will play against Manchester City. Manchester City and Liverpool have always been the top two contenders for the league title. But this season, Liverpool are not being considered the title contender. Liverpool stand in 10th place, while Manchester City are fighting with Arsenal to go to the top.

However, Man City boss Pep Guardiola doesn’t care about Liverpool’s position at the league table. He believes Liverpool are the biggest threat to Man City. While speaking with the club media, Guardiola said, “A table never plays a team – the game will be dictated by what happens on the pitch, not that we are in front or behind [in the table]. [It’s] always difficult and has been in these years we arrive together. Tough game, we won’t discover anything else that’s special.”

He added: “I know the quality they have and they know the quality we have. If we get this question with 10 games left, I would say Liverpool cannot catch Arsenal. But with the World Cup, anything can happen.

“In the last years we fought for all the titles and were close. We were a little bit better, especially in the Premier League. But nothing changes the opinion I have of them,” Guardiola added.

However, Liverpool FC have registered a massive victory in the UEFA Champions League against Rangers. Liverpool’s center-back Virgil van Dijk talked about the Sunday clash with Man City after the match against Rangers. In an interview with Liverpoolfc.com Van Dijk said, “Obviously the last eight or nine games in – I don’t know how many games we’re in – things have not been going as great as everyone wants for almost everyone and confidence sometimes dropped down a bit.”

In spite of this, the Dutchman hopes to bounce back against the Guardiola boys. He believes the good form against the Rangers will boost their performance in the Sunday clash. Van Dijk said, “But I think [in the Rangers game] all of us showed the quality we have. For [Salah] to come on at the right time as well when they have to push a little bit more, the space will be more – it’s beneficial for all of us.”

Van Dijk also appreciated Man City’s supremacy in the league. “You play against the champions, you play against one of the best teams in Europe with probably the most in-form striker, with one of the best midfielders, in my opinion, in the world. So they have a great side, great manager and it’s always been tough for both sides – it’s not going to be anything different.”
