Bangladesh won a stunning game against Zimbabwe in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Today’s match between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe was decided in the last ball of the innings.

Zimbabwe started their journey in the Super 12 with a defeat. But they made a brilliant comeback in their second game, where they defeated Pakistan. By beating a giant team like Pakistan, Zimbabwe were more confident against Bangladesh today. However, they fought until the last but couldn’t win the game today.

As it happened

Shakib Al Hasan, the captain of Bangladesh, won the toss and decided to bat first. So, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Soumya Sarkar came into the crease to start the innings for Bangladesh. Like the previous two games, Soumya Sarkar failed today to get enough runs. He had gone duck as Blessing Muzarabani picked up his wicket in the 2nd over.

Then, Najmul Shanto made a partnership of 22 runs with Liton Kumar Das. They were looking good on the crease, but Muzarabani once again brought a breakthrough for the Zimbabweans. He picked up Liton Kumar in the 6th over.

After that, skipper Shakib came in and contributed 23 runs to the team. Afif Hossain also played a vital role after Shakib. Before losing the wicket, Afif Hossain scored 29 runs from 19 balls. It was Najmul Hossain Shanto, however, who led the team toward big scores. Shanto scored the highest 71 runs from 55 balls, which helped Bangladesh to set a target of 151 runs against Zimbabwe.

Defending the score, Bangladesh had a flying start. In-form pacer Taskin Ahmed picked up a wicket in the first over. In the 3rd over, Taskin hit again. This time, Craig Ervine departed the crease with 8 runs.

Mustafizur Rahman, another pacer of Bangladesh, also bowled well. He was the most economical bowler in this match, taking two wickets as well. Due to the aggression of Bangladeshi bowlers, Zimbabwe kept losing wickets.

But Sean Williams fought alone for Zimbabwe to get a good result. Before being run out by Shakib Al Hasan, he scored 64 runs. However, Zimbabwe got closer to the target relying on Seab Williams’ bat.
